John Woods, Husband, Dad, Grandpa (Papa), Father-In-Law, suffered with rheumatoid arthritis for the last 40 years of his life, never in remission. He died from interstitial lung disease, a rare complication of RA in November 2008. To honor his memory, our family has come together to help in the fight against arthritis.
In addition, we're also walking to honor four of John Woods' children who have RA - all were diagnosed in their teens or earlier. They have benefitted from decades of research, but there is still no cure. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) project that by the year 2030, 67 million people in the U.S., or 1 in 4 adults, will live with arthritis. You can join me in the movement against arthritis by helping me reach my goal. Let's Move Together to improve lives and reduce the pain of arthritis.
